The Santa Cruz Humane Education Program has been in existence since the agency was first formed in the 1930’s. Today, we offer free educational presentations to students, pre-K through 12th grade in public and private schools all over the county. Each month we reach thousands of children teaching them about respect for life, compassion for animals and each other and responsible companion animal care among other things. We also help Monterey Bay Scouts and Brownies earn their Pet Care Badge and their Animal Try it patch, hold a yearly animal based summer camp and a yearly animal based poster contest and we provide all other humane education needs to children and adults within the county. This program is made possible entirely by donations from our own community.
In these hard economic times, it becomes increasingly harder for us to find the resources for this excellent program.
Recently, the Santa Cruz Exchange Club had created a CD that they intended to be used to raise funds for education, specifically the New Horizons School for homeless and transitional Youth. When the New Horizons School closed their doors, the Exchange club offered the CDs to us so that we might use them to fundraise for our programs.
| We are offering each CD for whatever donation price you see fit, although $8 is our suggested minimum. The CD was created by a local artist as a soothing listen to be enjoyed by adults and kids. Thank you for all your support!
