Inspired  by the ASPCA, the Santa Cruz SPCA will be honoring Senior dogs all month long.  Shelters are full of senior animals, and the SPCA is no exception.  Senior dogs that are surrendered to shelters are typically denied a second chance for a family.  Oftentimes, overcrowding forces shelter workers to choose younger, more attractive dogs over their senior counterparts, and as a result many are euthanized.  The ASPCA put it perfectly: "While all dogs have personality, senior dogs have soul."
